A few weeks ago my assistant Amanda's cousin called from down south to tell her parents that she had been having headaches so she went to the doctor. They discovered a brain tumor that needed immediate surgery. The tumor was so extensive that she didn't survive the operation. She was a single mom of a 6-year-old boy named Michael. He is now up here in Rushville with his grandparents. Michael did not have much where he lived and has even less now. Michael is in need of boys clothing, size 6, and shoe size of 12. He has no winter clothing to speak of, or toys. In order to get some things for Michael quickly, I am offering a free half hour in studio portrait session and an 8x10 print for anyone who brings in a donation for Michael. If you can bring something to the studio as soon as possible, we can schedule the appointment for the shoot at your convenience.

I am so very sorry to hear about Michael's Mom. Such a young boy to have to lose his Mama.

I'm on it with the clothes. My Grandson should have some.

I'll check on toys, I do have books, would you like some of those as well?

Poor baby. God bless Gramma and Grandpa for their love and guide them with grace with their new life challenges. It is a tremendous amount of work. Bless them all

How are you with Pet Photos. Personally, I break cameras! I have two dogs who would love to have photos taken for a good cause! Both are being groomed next week Thursday (3/13).

Thank you all for your responses. Peter, yes I can photograph the dogs. In fact, we are coordinating an event called "Dog Days" where we are doing a pet session with the donation of a bag of food for the Humane Society. Shhh, the Humane Society doesn't know anything about this yet.

Books, VCR and tapes would be great also.

The humanity in this community never ceases to amaze me! With all our problems this place still has more good than bad!

When do you want me to come in, Steve... and we need to talk about your dog thing. I'm working on an event for them also. Maybe coordinate?

I plan to stop by after lunch with a box of items. Will someone be in?

P.S. My letter to the May Report about "Trash the Dress" was published yesterday or today. You may note some traffic on your servers coming in from Chicago.

I put a specific link into the gallery and your blog.

Steve,

Friday 3/14 would be best for the photoshoot as the dogs will be groomed the day before. Time is a bit yucky. ! get out of work at 3, and have and appointment at 4 which I think I can cancel. Anyway here's a URL of the proposal I have made. The OHS (Ontario Humane Society) is looking at it. I've got a preliminary committment from OCAC/ FLTV.

PS I can drop off the donation, and a little red wagon, any time!!

GT - you may want to jump in here!

Crayons are still coming.

Also, we forgot to drop off a few books from the "Captain Underpants" series. My daughter suggested you might want to check with the grandparents to see if that is age appropriate humor. I can't claim to have read them, but the website should give you the general idea. Lots of gross humor, but the series is published by schoolastic. (Times shure have changed)

maybe when there is time Steve you could post a list of items still needed. Or items you've too many of, I hope that is the case.

I have some movies and books I'll be bringing up this weekend.

The VCR that I had did not have a set of cables or a short coax jumper to a set top box.

Someone may want to add that to the list if they have either one.

Also, the VCR was older. It did not have a CD-DVD player.

Hey! My son would like to donate his Playstation 2, with one controller and at least 1 game. He's going to check and see if he has any others that are rated for a kid that young. He knows he has at least one game that is "E" for Everyone. The Playstation 2 also works as a DVD player.

Also, I'm not sure if you need them, but I have a set of bunk beds in good condition - I bought them while I was in Texas and I carted them up here and they're going to disuse in one of our empty bedrooms. I would be happy to transport them over to the home if needed, and I am sure that Dan would be glad to set them up. They are both twin mattresses.

Let me know!

Steve, would he enjoy a rather large remote control car. My sons begged and begged for it, and just as i predicted, they played with it only a few times. If you think he'd like it, I'll run it over this week (no need for a session, the mirror is enough trauma for me LOL).
