Dear MoveOn member,

Can you join a Town Hall Meeting on health care with Rep. Eric Massa
TONIGHT?

We need to make sure Rep. Massa hears from constituents that we're
counting on him to fight for health care reform with a real public health
insurance option that will expand coverage and bring down costs for all of
us.

The Town Hall is tonight at 7:30 p.m. and the more of us who attend, the
more likely we'll be to get our message across.

Here are the details:

What: Health Care Town Hall Meeting with Rep. Eric Massa
When: Thursday, August 6th at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Mendon Community Center, 167 N. Main St, Honeoye Falls, NY

Yes, I'll attend the Town Hall tonight at 7:30.

Sorry, I can't make it.

This is a critical month for President Obama's agenda. Corporate lobbyists
are trying to weaken or kill both his energy and health care plans. MoveOn
members from across the district are participating in this event as part
of MoveOn's "Heat Up Congress" campaign to fight back.

And recently we've seen a trend that makes it even more important for us
to speak out. Right-wing opponents of President Obama's agenda have been
flooding town halls and other public events--and they're even using
fraudulent tactics, like bringing in people who don't even live in the
district.1 We urgently need to make sure everyday constituents are heard
in the public debate over health care--and this Town Hall Meeting is a
timely and easy way to do that.

Thanks, and we hope you can make it.

Well, that's one way to keep down the dissenting crowds, 6 hour's notice!

This is business as usual for Massa, a media blitz from the DNC followed by short notice to a few leftist groups and the rest of us find out too late.

His entourages move in and out of the district like a band of gypsies.

Disregard and disenfranchise us now Mr. Massa and we will dismiss you in 2010.

Maybe we can go knock on his door to get the info. I know where he lives. My great grandfather & family lived one block over on Tuxill Ave.

Kind of like the tactics that got the Obama man elected? Wow, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Funny thing about Massa and his sneaky gypsies. They drew a crowd of 500 to the Mendon meeting. The Mendon health care Town Hall on August 5 was publicized beforehand in Democrat & Chronicle and that meeting and other three town halls was publicized by press release on August 3. If it wasn't publicized earlier in Daily Messenger, well that is Daily Messenger's fault. We all have another chance to attend one in Perinton later in month.

I do not have problem with those from outside Massa's district attending. I do have a problem with people who publicize falsehoods about the reform proposals or about the Congressman and how he publicizes his meetings.

Democrat & Chronicle
Hundreds turn out for meeting on health care reform
Staff reports • August 6, 2009

More than 500 people came to the Mendon Community Center in Honeoye Falls on Thursday for the first of Rep. Eric Massa’s town hall meetings on health care reform.

Massa, D-Corning, answered questions during the outdoor forum, which included many sharp comments both in favor and against bills that are before Congress.

Massa stressed several times that he’s been among those who have urged Congress to not act hastily on such an important issue.

Another meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at Perinton Community Center, 1350 Turk Hill Road.

You wouldn't know a "falsehood" it it slapped you in the face.

Obama and the far-left ideolouges have been lying to you from the start on healthcare and you won't believe it until you walk into a Doctor's office someday in the future and he says: "Sorry you are just too old to get this expensive medicine but I can put you in touch with someone who will help you write a living will."

From what I have picked up from various sources on the timeline, it was MoveOn dragging their feet, not Massa. His summer schedule is on his Congressional web site,

Understood but, why is it that Massa can find the time to write yet another self-promoting essay to the Messenger but neither him nor any of his staff who are being paid with tax dollars can find time to get that schedule into the Messenger in a timely fashion or onto FLTV?

He obviously has a Messenger connection, they fawn all over him and print his essays without ever questioning anything he says or the positions that he takes.

For that matter why didn't he send out a mass mailing announcing his meeting schedule and laying out his position on health care (something more than I support Obama and Nancy) since we pay for them too? That would have served an actual public purpose and generated even more public interest......OOOOpsie.... I guess I just answered my question!
